Design
3D
Draw 3D objects, import models, light the scene, and move the camera on the Velork canvas.
You can build 3D scenes right on the canvas. Draw objects like any shape, import a model, light it, and fly the camera. 3D layers animate in Motion mode and export to images and video like the rest of the design.
You can also ask Agent for a scene:
Make a 3D product shot of a glossy speaker on a pale studio floor, lit from the left.
Draw a 3D object
Open the 3D group in the canvas toolbar and pick a tool:
- Box, Sphere, Cylinder, Cone, Ring
- Light
- Import model…
Click or drag on the canvas. If you draw inside a 3D frame, the object goes into that frame's scene. If you draw anywhere else, Velork makes a 3D frame around it.
Turn a frame into a 3D space
Select a frame and click + (Make a 3D space) in the header of the 3D section of the properties panel. Its layers now live in 3D. Click − (Make flat) to turn it back. The scene keeps its settings, so turning it on again restores it.
Import a model
- Pick Import model… from the 3D group.
- Click where the model should go.
- Choose a
.glb,.gltf, or.objfile.
Velork copies the file into your project. A .gltf file and the files it uses are packed into one .glb.
In the 3D section, Model sets whether the model fits inside its box or stretches to it. Use Part to pick a part of the model to move, turn, scale, hide, or give its own material. Models with built-in animations get an Animation row to choose a clip.
Move the camera
Pick Camera from the 3D group, then drag over a 3D frame:
| Gesture | Camera move |
|---|---|
| Drag | Orbit around what the camera aims at |
| Shift + drag | Pan |
| Option + drag | Dolly in and out |
The tool moves the frame's real camera, so what you see is what plays and exports. In Motion mode, camera moves become keyframes. A frame without a camera gets one.
Style objects and the scene
Select a 3D layer to edit it in the 3D section of the properties panel:
- Object: what the layer is in 3D, such as a flat card, an extruded shape, a box, sphere, or ring, a spun or swept shape, a device, a light, or a camera
- Rotation and Depth: tilt and push the layer in space
- Material: Matte, Glossy, Paint, Metal, Glass, or Flat color. Surface sets roughness and metalness, and Picture shows another frame on the page on the object, such as a screen design.
- Shape, Taper and twist: thickness, bevel or corner radius, taper, and twist, depending on the object
- Shadows: whether the object casts and receives shadows
- Device: a Phone, Tablet, Laptop, or Browser mockup
- Light: Point, Spot, Sun, or Area, with intensity, Temperature, and shadows. Spot lights have a Cone.
- Lens: field of view or focal length, for a camera
- Aim at: what a camera or light points at, the frame center or another layer
Select the 3D frame to set the scene:
- Reflections: the environment (Studio, Product, Sky, Sunset, or None) and how strong reflections are
- Ambient light: ambient and sky light
- Shadows: the floor's position and shadow strength
- Glow and Fog
- Color: the tone (True to color, Natural, Filmic, or Linear) and exposure
- Render: path tracing for exports
Render and export
The canvas renders 3D quickly while you work. On the 3D frame, turn on path tracing in the Render row to get photoreal light, shadows, and reflections in exports. The number next to it sets the samples per frame. Path-traced exports take longer per frame.
When you export, choose Quick 3D or Path traced. See Export.
