Installation

Download Velork from the download page. It detects your platform and chip and offers the matching build first. Other builds for the same platform are listed below it.

Velork publishes builds on alpha, beta, and stable channels. The download page always links to the newest public build across those channels.

macOS

• macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
• Builds for Apple Silicon (M1 and newer) and Intel
• Installer: .dmg

Open the .dmg, drag Velork into Applications, and open it from there. If macOS blocks the first launch, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Windows

• Windows 10 or later
• Builds for x64 (most PCs) and ARM64 (Snapdragon and other ARM PCs)
• Installers: .exe or .msi, in User and System variants

A User installer installs for your account only and needs no admin rights. A System installer installs for everyone on the PC. Run the installer, then open Velork from the Start menu.

Linux

• Builds for x64 and ARM64
• Packages: .deb, .rpm, or .AppImage

Install a .deb or .rpm with your package manager. To run the AppImage:

chmod +x Velork-*.AppImage
./Velork-*.AppImage

Open projects from the terminal

On macOS, open the Command Palette (Cmd + Shift + P) and run Shell Command: Install 'velork' command in PATH. Then open a folder from any terminal:

velork .

Run Shell Command: Uninstall 'velork' command from PATH to remove it. These two commands exist only on macOS.

Updates

Velork checks for updates in the background. When one is ready, a button appears in the title bar and shows where the update is:

• Update available
• Downloading Update
• Install Update
• Installing Update
• Restart to Update

Click the button to move to the next step, then click Restart to Update to finish.

Install Velork Capture

The Velork Capture Chrome extension installs separately. It copies any element from a website so you can paste it onto the canvas in Velork. See Setup.
