Figma account

You can paste from Figma without connecting an account. Connecting adds two things:

• Figma comments on the frames you paste, synced both ways
• Images from private files, which Figma only serves to a signed-in account

Connect Figma

1. Sign in to Velork. The Figma connection is saved with your Velork account.
2. On the canvas, open the toolbar menu and choose Figma…
3. Click Connect Figma account, or Login at the top of the panel
4. Approve access in the browser and come back to Velork. The panel shows Waiting for browser… until you do.

The panel shows your Figma avatar, handle, and email when you're connected. Click Logout in the panel to disconnect.

Figma comments

When you paste a frame from a connected account, Velork links the Figma file to the project and pins its comments on the pasted layers. Velork checks one linked file for new comments every 45 seconds, so with one file new comments show up within about a minute. With several linked files, it takes longer.

From the canvas you can:

• Reply to a comment or add a new one. It's posted to the Figma file.
• Add and remove emoji reactions
• Delete your own comments
• Resolve a thread

Figma doesn't let other apps resolve comments, so a thread you resolve in Velork stays open in Figma.

Linked files are saved with the project, and Velork picks up their comments again when you open it.

Private files and blocked OAuth

Some organizations block third-party apps from Figma. If images from a private file don't load, use a personal access token instead:

1. In Figma, open Settings → Security → Personal access tokens
2. Create a token with File content: read
3. In Velork, open the settings editor (Cmd + Shift + P, then Preferences: Open Settings) and set velork.figma.personalAccessToken to the token (figd_…)

The token takes priority over the connected account for loading images.

Reconnect

If Figma stops accepting the connection, for example after you change permissions, comments stop syncing and Velork shows Reconnect Figma. Click it, or open Figma… and click Reconnect Figma. Syncing picks up again after you reconnect.

What it doesn't do

• Import a Figma file from a URL. Copy and paste frames instead.
• Keep layers in sync after you paste. When the design changes in Figma, paste it again.
