Velork Beta · Tokens · Styles
Velork is now in beta. Designs get a real design system: tokens and styles, components with variants and properties, and an AI that sets them up and uses them on its own.
New
- Velork Beta: this release moves Velork from alpha to beta. Alpha installs update to it in the app as usual and stay on beta from then on
- Tokens: variables for colors, numbers, text and switches, grouped in collections with modes such as Light and Dark. Bind any fill, stroke, radius, gap, padding or opacity field to a token from the properties panel, and switch a frame's mode to see the other theme
- Styles: text, color and effect styles in one place. Text styles are grouped by folder, color rows show their value, and editing a style updates every layer that uses it
- Tokens card: a Tokens tab next to Design on the canvas to browse, search, add and edit tokens and styles, and export them as CSS variables, Tailwind or JSON
- Components: make a component from any frame, add variants (size, state, theme) and properties (text, on/off, instance swap), and place instances that follow every change to the main one. Instances keep their own text and overrides, and Reset, Swap and Detach are in the panel
- Components card: a Components tab with search, folders and a preview of every component and set. Click a row to go to it, or + to place an instance
- The AI builds a design system: from a plain brief, the AI sets up tokens, text styles and components before it draws the screens, then uses them everywhere. It can point any field at a token by name and switch modes. Chat shows the tokens it made as swatches and the components it placed, swapped or reset
- Pages in the agents view: the canvas in agents mode has a pages card to switch, add and rename pages, with a spinner on the page the AI is working on. The canvas reopens on the page you were last on
Improvements
- Follow Velork AI across pages: following the AI switches to the page it is working on, and stays with it for the whole turn
- Smooth canvas while the AI edits components: a design with many instances no longer freezes the window while the AI works on it (38 s to under 9 s for the same edits, longest pause 30 s to half a second)
- Exact text sizes: text layers that size themselves to their content measure exactly, so lines no longer wrap or clip early
Fixes
- Token and component cards: clicking in a long list no longer jumps it back to the top, the search field keeps its full height, and the card can be closed
- Instances: hidden layers no longer take space, copies in a dark frame show dark colors, icons stay centered when an instance is resized, and duplicates keep their swapped parts
- AI token values: tokens the AI made with Claude no longer come out empty
- macOS installer: the build stops instead of shipping a disk image without the app in it
